Fast & Easy Social Sharing

A simple and fast social media sharing plugin. The share buttons are loaded as fonts thus load fast and can scale as large as you want them to be. No JavaScript is loaded from any of the social networks. Only two requests are being made, one for the fonts and another for the stylesheet, that’s it.

For the time being, the icons are displayed only on posts, not pages or your homepage. Future version will have a feature to enable for pages.

Manual Install:

1. Upload entire folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to Settings > Fast & Easy Social Sharing then update your settings.

I suggest signing up for SharedCount since there’s a good chance that our API key will hit the daily limit. I am not associated with SharedCount nor are they aware of this plugins development. In the future, I may development our own way of counting the social networks.

When are you going to add “some other social network”?

The plugin is still in the early stages of development. More social networks will be added over time but before doing so, some more functionality will be added first.

How is the total share count calculated?

Twitter + Facebook + GooglePlus + StumbleUpon + Pinterest + LinkedIn = Shares

Shared Counter is provided by sharedcount.com.

Why do I need to provide a sharedcount.com API key?

The total number shared is provided by this website. I’ve provided a default API key but there’s a chance your stats may not update because of the daily limit provided by the default key. Use your own to avoid any issues by registering on the site.
