Technical Details

Architecture:
The plugin uses WordPress’s built-in OEmbed system combined with a fallback embed handler for maximum compatibility. It first attempts to use the Ignite Video OEmbed API for rich metadata and optimal rendering, then falls back to a manual iframe if needed.

Performance:
– Minimal overhead – only loads when Ignite Video URLs are detected
– Caches embed responses using WordPress’s built-in caching
– 10-second timeout for API requests to prevent slow page loads

Security:
– All URLs and IDs are properly escaped and validated
– Uses WordPress’s built-in security functions
– No permanent data stored – safe to activate and deactivate
– No database modifications or custom tables

Privacy

This plugin does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. When a video is embedded, your browser will connect directly to the Ignite Video servers to load the video player, subject to Ignite Video’s privacy policy.

1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/ignite-video-embed directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress admin by uploading the zip file.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
3. That’s it! Start pasting Ignite Video URLs into your content.
