Description

Media Bulk Download (Lite) lets you pick multiple files in the Media Library and download them as a single ZIP.

  • Works in Grid and List views
  • Adds a “Download as ZIP” bulk action (List) and a toolbar button (Grid)
  • Nonce + capability checks and path validation for security
  • Lite limits (to keep it fair):
    • Up to 10 files per ZIP
    • 2-minute cooldown between zips
    • 5 ZIPs/day per user

How it works

  1. Go to Media Library
  2. Select files (Grid or List)
  3. Click Download as ZIP
  4. A single ZIP is prepared and downloaded

Installation

  1. Install from Plugins Add New, search for “Media Bulk Download (Lite)”
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Go to Media Library
  4. Select your files and click Download as ZIP

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the download button?

  • Grid view: a “Download as ZIP” button appears in the upper toolbar once you select items.
  • List view: use the Bulk actions dropdown Download as ZIP.

What are the Lite limits?

  • Max 10 files per ZIP
  • 2 minutes between ZIP generations
  • 5 ZIPs/day per user
    These are enforced to keep the Lite plugin fair and stable. The Pro version removes limits.

Does it respect user capabilities?

Yes. Only users with upload_files capability can generate ZIPs.

Does it change or move media files?

No. Files are read and streamed into a ZIP; nothing is altered in your library.
