This plugin automatically retrieves your monthly top 5 tracks, artists, and albums from Last.fm, saving them as a WordPress option and displaying them via a shortcode.

Installation

  1. Download and activate the plugin directly from the WordPress dashboard (or upload the monthly-stats-for-last-fm folder to /wp-content/plugins/).
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Go to “Last.fm Monthly” in the WordPress admin sidebar.
  4. Enter your Last.fm username and API key.
  5. Use the shortcode in your posts/pages to display data for a specific month:
  6. The plugin automatically collects data at the turn of each month.
    • For example, statistics for August will only be available starting from September.
  7. If you want to display the stats before the end of the month, you can use the Manual Data Collection feature:

    • Go to “Last.fm Monthly” in the WordPress admin sidebar.
    • Select the month and year you want.
    • Click Collect Data to make the stats available immediately.
