Post Featured Video is a very nifty responsive video plugin that helps your users to see a YouTube or Vimeo video or Custom HTML MP4 video instead of the featured image on the blog and blog detail page.

Add the URL of YouTube or Vimeo in the specific field or upload video in the backend of the post/page and your user will have the pleasure to watch video in place of featured image.

Post Featured video plugin is highly customizable. You can display video in lightbox, enable autoplay video, enable display mode ie. youtube, Vimeo or upload MP4 video. It can replace the post featured image with a video.

Installation

Installation Steps

Follow any of these below process.
Process – 1
1. Upload the folder to /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

1. Visit your WordPress Administration interface and go to Plugins -> Add New
2. Search for Post Featured Video, and click Install Now below the plugin’s name
3. When the installation finished, click Activate Plugin

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a featured video?

Once you enabled featured video for the post type, go to the post edit page, there is featured image area (in the classic editor and Featured Video in Gutenberg) for you to look for and set URL or upload a video to display video.

Where do I get the URLs for my videos?

For YouTube and Vimeo videos, copy the URL from the browser’s address bar. You may also enter a direct URL to any video hosted on your server.
For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkuKHwetV6Q&t=39s or
http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/movie.mp4

Why my video is not displaying?

Please make a sure post featured image should have been set and video URL must be valid.

How to enable YouTube or Video URL?

Go to the Featured Video menu > General Settings tab and choose display mode.

Does what it says. I thought it won't work because I have my own thumbnail function which is able to add aspect ratios and stuff but it just does.
