Step 2: Ad Recovery

Publishers can then activate Ad Recovery directly in their Publica user interface. Publica integrates with all major online video player and is compatible with any ad server. Provide the tag you wish to recover and Publica will take care of the rest. You will access a Recovery dashboard to closely monitor how many ads have been recovered.

Installation Instructions

Plugin Directory Installation

1. Please install and activate the Worpress Plugin.
2. Create an account on getpublica.com.
3. Once you are on the “Set Up” stage, please skip this step and return to WordPress.
4. In your wordpress settings, you should find a new option called Publica Ad Recovery. Click on it and log in with your Publica credentials.
5. Access your analytics dashoard on the Publica User Interface.
6. Once you’re ready to start recovering ads, please follow the [Set Up Recovery] (https://console.getpublica.com/#/recoverywizard “Activate recovery”) activation wizard in the Publica User Interface.

Manual Installation

1. Upload the entire /publica-ad-block-recovery directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
2. Activate Publica Ad Recovery through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
3. Under the Admin Settings, choose Publica Ad Recovery and login to your Publica account.
4. After successful login, the Publica Ad Recovery should be ready to recover Ads on your blog.

How much does this plugin cost?

The Publica WordPress Plugin is entirely free. It will give you access to unlimited free analytics to measure the impact of ad blocking on your site.
When you’re ready to start monetizing ad block users, you will be able to activate Publica Recovery directly in your Publica User Interface. Information on pricing for Publica Recovery will be provided.

Is there a limit to how many pages I can monitor?

You can monitor as many page views as you would like, analytics will always remain free no matter how much volume is analyzed.

Will this plug in slow down my page?

No, the script is asynchronous and has no impact on page load time.
One of the key metrics provided in the user interface is how page load time is impacted by ad blockers.
You will be able to monitor the impact of Publica on your page load time at all times and notice that pages serve faster when Publica handles ad delivery.

During the sign up process, I’m asked to implement a script on my website, what should I do?

Please ignore this step. The Publica Script will automatically be added to your site when activating the Publica plugin on your wordpress.

How do I start monetizing ad block users?

Log in to your Publica account and go through the Set Up Recovery activation wizard.

Can I serve my own ads?

Absolutely, Publica calls your video ad server on the server-side and lets you deliver your direct sold or third-party ads.
Both Vast and JS VPAID ads are supported.

I don’t have any videos on my wordpress at the moment, can I still use Publica?

Yes, please reach out to our video expert and we will help you elaborate a video strategy and source the demand for this new inventory.

I only serve display ads to my users, can I still use Publica?

Yes, a lot of publishers have replaced their display ads with outstream units on ad blocked inventory. Expect higher CPMs and minimize user frustration by getting rid of banners.
