Description

Simple plugin that adds a reading time widget for Elementor / shortcode. Calculates estimated reading time from post content and displays it with or without an icon. The estimated time is displayed in minutes and seconds.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/lava-reading-time directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
  3. Use shortcode [reading_time] to show the estimated time for reading the post (in post loop, or single post).
  4. Or use the “Reading time” Elementor widget, while using Elementor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the words pre minutes?

Sure, you can set words per minutes from 50 to 1000 (default 180).

Can I use custom icon?

Unfortunetally no. At the moment, you can only choose, if you want the icon, and style of icon (solid/regular).

Can I use the plugin without Elementor?

Yes, simply use the shortcode [reading_time] to display estimated time where you need.
