For Developers: Deploying New Versions

This plugin uses GitHub Actions to automatically deploy to WordPress.org when you create a new tag.

How to create and deploy a new version

1. Make sure all your changes are committed to the main branch
2. Update the version number in the following files:
   • readme.txt (Stable tag line)
   • true-roas.php (Version in plugin header)
3. Add a changelog entry in readme.txt for the new version

4. Commit these version updates

5. Create a new tag matching the version number:
   git tag 3.5
   (Replace 3.5 with your version number)

6. Push the tag to GitHub:
   git push origin 3.5
   (Or use git push origin --tags to push all tags)

7. The GitHub Action will automatically:

   • Detect the new tag
   • Deploy the plugin to WordPress.org SVN repository
   • Make it available to all WordPress users

Useful Git tag commands

View all existing tags:
git tag

View tags with their messages:
git tag -n

Create an annotated tag with a message:
git tag -a 3.5 -m “Release version 3.5”

Delete a local tag (if you made a mistake):
git tag -d 3.5

Delete a remote tag:
git push origin –delete 3.5
