Installation

To to enable the button, you’ll need to enter 2 ID’s on the settings page and consent to allow uWebChat.com content :

1) Customer ID

This is your unique customer ID that was generated by installing the uWebChat software from AppSource. You can retrieve this ID by typing typing \”debug\” in the chat window

2) Group ID

This ID can be found by typing “show groups” in the chat window.

3) Consent

This field needs to be checked in order to use the plugin

Is the plugin free?

Yes, the plugin itself uses the GNU General Public License, version 2.

Does the plugin require a payed uWebChat license?

No, you can install a free version of uWebChat first and use this free plugin to embed it on your website. The paid version of uWebChat however offers more functionality like group settings, automatic translation, servicetimes, meet now and more.

How can the chat-page be customized?

The layout and colors of the embeded chat window can be changed from within uWebChat itself. Type “help” to see more info on this topic.

Can I use the plugin without using Microsoft Teams?

No, Microsoft Teams is currently the only supported client.

Is this plugin any different then manually add HTML code?

No, it just makes it easier to embed. You can also use the code generated by uWebChat and add it manually to the body tag of your page.

Can I change to default color and image of the out-of-the-box webchat button?

Yes, the webchat button uses a default color and image. You can change these by adding extra CSS properties to the chat button.

Can I create my own style for the chat window itself?

The Enterprise edition of uWebChat allows the creating of a new web chat style.

Does the chat-button appears on every page on my site?

Yes, the current Plugin-version displays the chat-button on every page except login and admin pages. You can however create you own custom code to embed it on specific pages only. The GPL license even allows you to modify the source-code of the plugin according to your requirements.

Can I use the same Customer ID and Group ID on multiple sites (domain names)?

Check your uWebChat license for the number of supported domain/sites.
