WordPress Football Leagues

WordPress Football Leagues allows you to select a football league to show on you site as a widget or in any page/post via a shortcode. You can select the number of teams to show, allowing the widget to be placed is small footers. You can also Highlight your favourite team.

Available Leagues:

• England
  • Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two
• Scotland
  • Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two
• Norway
  • Tippeligaen

Norway? Thats right, Norway. A Customer asked if I would add the Tippeligaen and I obliged. Are there any leagues you’d like to see? Please let me know over on my website

Installing WordPress Football Leagues is really simple:

1. Upload the plugin folder (i.e. wp-football-leagues) to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

Widget

1. Add the widget to a side bar through the ‘Appearance > Widgets’ menu in WordPress.
2. Tweek the options to suit your needs.
3. Enjoy!

I’ve totally changed the way the leagues are generated. The widget now uses JSON to retrieve and display the league based on your requirements.
