Description

We use https://ui-avatars.com to generate avatars. You can pick length of initials, background color, font color and avatar size. It’s free and without limits.

Terms of usage

We do not track usage, and there is no limits. It’s free to use and everything is done to assure fast responses with least delay.

Only terms are that we (the API) is not liable, and you agree to typical MIT licensing. Please use the service with respect, considering that some people depend on it, and it’s limitless and free. Be nice, that’s the only terms of usage.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/wp-initials-avatar directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
  3. Navigate to Settings -> Avatar settings and configure the plugin

日本語名でも使用可能 Can be used for international user name

他のイニシャルアバターのプラグインはアルファベットの画像を使用しているため、日本名に使用すると画像が該当せずリンク切れしてしまいます。このプラグインは >UI Avatars というサイトで生成した画像を読み込むため、ユーザー名が漢字でもカタカナでもイニシャルを表示することができます。 ユーザー数の多いグループブログなどで、ミステリーマンが大勢表示されてしまうのを防ぐことができとても便利です。
