This plugin backs up before deleting posts.
When you click “Delete Permanently” WordPress will create an XML file to save to your server computer.
The XML file is stored in “wp-content/deleted_posts” on your wordpress. 
 The XML file is stored in the site-id if your wordpress is multi sites.
The XML file is stored with a format same as Export on WordPress. 
 If you want to restore the post, you can use Import on WordPress.
Supporting post-types are “post”, “page” and “custom post”. 
 But “attachment” is unsupported.

Media Hygiene: Remove or Delete Unused Images and More!


Recently I installed this plugin on my two sites, the first one built in DIVI and the second one built in AVADA, this plugin executes flawlessly on both sites and comes up with numerous unused files as a result, those files were going to be deleted, after that, my sites work a little bit smoother. Moreover, the plugin provides adequate statistics and examination to get an idea regarding media. we can move questionable files or media in whitelisted media so they can't be deleted, which is a satisfactory feature. Overall, I love the plugin and highly recommend it.



I have been building websites for a long time and use to a lots of images in site and at the end of project there are a lot of images unused in media library and using server space. I tried many plugins to find unused images and way to delete but none of them are at perfection level. But Media Hygiene did really a great job compare to other plugins and helped me to save my server space, delete unwanted image and latest update to scan the entire media library to find the images as unused is way much faster. I will be using this plugin in many site in coming day. Keep it up, good job.

I recently tried using a media hygiene tool to help manage a website's vast array of media files. It was a good starting point but had its limitations. For example, it sometimes marked images as unused that were actually still in use. This meant I had to double-check everything manually to ensure no necessary files were mistakenly deleted.



Even though this process took some extra effort, the tool did help me by narrowing down the list of files to check, which was a real-time saver. However, I'm on the lookout for something a bit more reliable for our next clean-up round.


Giving it a 5 but with reservations...


I worked on a lot of Photography websites where images are pretty randomly uploaded. Naming conventions ignored due to rushes and all that comes with running a busy business. The end effect? Massive library of images that are unsearchable in the dashboard, all looking similar and frankly, impossible to archive and delete manually. This is especially true when a website gets updated or redesigned using the content from previous iterations. , and with WordPress creating different sizes of all images - it is quite frankly a nightmare. All solved by this in incredible plugin with just a few clicks. Fantastic work from the Media Hygiene team. Support is outstanding too. Recommended!
