<p>People love lists! And if you run a successful blog, you probably have many lists throughout your posts. But those lists tend to be boring bullet lists such as screenshot 1 into an interactive checklist as shown in screenshot 2.</p>
<p>And once your visitors save the list to their Checklist app (on iOS/ Android and Web), it will show as in screenshot 6.</p>
<p>Notice how you get the sticky relationship as the list includes a link back to your blog which the user will see every time they use the list (even months after).</p>

<h3>How It Works</h3>
<p>Start by installing the plugin in your Plugins directory (or via the WordPress one click install)</p>
<p>Option 1 – Save & Print buttons<br />
Place your cursor above any list in your post, click the Checklist button in your WordPress post editor and select “Save & Print Buttons” from the drop down menu. A shortcode will be placed above your list. You may customize the text on each of the Save or Print buttons.</p>
<p>Option 2 – Interactive Checklist Box<br />
Select any bullet list (or create a new one) in your WordPress post editor. In the following example we take a list of baby items an expecting mom should buy (see screenshot 3)<br />
Click on the Checklist button from the editor and get the Checklist popup to customize your checklist (screenshot 4)</p>
<p>And voila: you have a <a href="https://checklist.com/baby-checklist/" rel="nofollow ugc">baby checklist</a>.</p>
<p>To customize the overall look and feel of the plugin to fit your blog’s, head over to the Checklist settings page from the WordPress admin menu (screenshot 5)</p>
<h3>Where can I use the plugin?</h3>
<p>Naturally, you can use this for any list on your site. Here are a few examples:</p>

<li>Shopping lists. Things you will need to get something accomplished. E.g. DIY lists</li>
<li>Recipes. Inclued a list of ingredients</li>

<li>Bookmarks. Lists of links. E.g. if you have just listed the top 20 WordPress themes, why not place a list at the end which the user can take with them and further look into</li>

<p>Tip: Why not end (and even start) each blog post with a list which summarizes the article? This can be something the reader can take away with them.</p>

<h4>Editor-friendly blocks</h4>
<p>While diving into this project I’ve explored a few areas where I can improve my personal publishing flow. The first was bringing editor comments into Gutenberg with my <a href="https://richtabor.com/markdown-comment/?utm_source=wp-org&utm_medium=todo-list-block&utm_campaign=readme" rel="nofollow ugc">Markdown Comment block</a>, and this Todo List block.</p>
<p>Todo List is a simple, editor-only block designed to quickly add tasks directly within the editor.</p>
<p>Todo List makes it easy to keep track of those tasks, all in the context of a particular post. You may also use it to add a publishing checklist to the post, such as using a headline analyzer, adding featured images, adding social images, etc.</p>
<h4>Transforms</h4>
<p>I’m a huge fan of blocks transforms and how they improve the WordPress publishing experience. Being able to morph a block into another, without loosing content/attributes, is a powerful way to level-up editing.</p>
<p>That saying, you may transform paragraph text, list items and even editorial comments added by Markdown Comment directly into actionable todos, just like you can in the iOS Notes app for example. You may even take multiple blocks of the sort and convert them all into a single todo list.</p>
<p>Todo List also supports block prefixes, which are keyboard shortcuts in a sense, to toss blocks in the editor with a few keystrokes. Adding <code>[]</code>, or <code>-[]</code> plus the <code>space</code> key will add a Todo List to the page.</p>

It works as advertised, I just wish there were some more features such as:

- Font size & font color options (per list item).
- Option to also display on the front end.
- Option to indent each list item, so we can have "category" items. This (maybe) would  not be necessary if we had the choice to change the font color and size per list item.

On the other hand, this plugin as it is, is still very useful, and the zip file is only 16kb, so adding things in and multiplying the file size by a a lot, may be it won't be worth it.

Nevertheless, I am sticking to my 5 star rating for this.
