<p>Pencil Wiki is a simple wiki solution for your WordPress.</p>
<p>Basically, it adds new roles & capabilities that allow your users to add/edit wiki pages (custom post type).</p>
<p>It comes with several widgets and custom templates (that you can override) fully integrated with the <em>Twenty Twelve</em> theme.</p>
<p>Pages are edited backend, but there is a menu on every wiki page with the necessary links; and a wiki index / search input.</p>
<p>Only Administrators and Editors can create new wikis (top-level pages); and Wiki Authors can add pages to it.<br />
Administrators and Editors can also LOCK some wiki pages (for any reason) or branches; which means they will not be editable anymore by other users.</p>
<p>I voluntarily made the plugin quite simple to avoid making it intrusive (javascript, css, …) and put too many features. I recommend to run it with those plugins :<br />

After running my custom docs solution on my own website for a few years, I decided to give this a try. It was a smooth ride right from the start, luck had it I used the same CPT as they are. All existing docs were neatly listed and after adding sections I was up and running with this fast and versatile plugin.



The UI has a nice set of settings for giving it a custom look, but the fact that the templating files can be copied to literally change every aspect, is what really won me over.

I encountered an issue when initially setting up the documentation using the EasyDocs plugin. However, the plugin support team responded promptly and assisted me in resolving the issue. It's possible that the problem was related to specific server configurations.



Overall, I find EasyDocs to be a top-notch WordPress documentation plugin.
