<h4>Custom Post Types</h4>
<p>WordPress can be more than just a blog.  By default, WordPress allows you to create blog posts and pages (and links, and comments,…).  But it can do more than that.  With a little elbow grease, you can put in all kinds of different information.  <em>Blog post</em> and <em>page</em> are two different types of <em>posts</em>.  WordPress also allows you to create <em>custom post types</em>.  Your site could have the post type <em>employee</em>, or <em>product</em>, or <em>movie</em>, or <em>super hero</em>.</p>
<p>Normally, you need to be a code monkey to pull this off.  If requires quite a bit of programming.  <strong>Postyper</strong> aims to remedy that.  It provides you with an interface to define your own custom post types, without the computer science degree.</p>
<p>Once you have your custom post types defined, you’ll need to work on a way to display them.  Postyper creates archives for you, and individual pages for your posts.  But in order to display your custom field information, you’ll need to modify your templates.  For this, you’ll probably need to get a template developer.</p>
<h4>For Template Developers</h4>
<p>Postyper uses WordPress’s native post meta system.  So all custom information entered by editors can be retrieved using the <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_post_meta" rel="nofollow ugc">get_post_meta()</a> or <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_post_custom" rel="nofollow ugc">get_post_custom()</a> functions.  You can also use the WordPress hierarchy to create templates for each post type, including single-<em>postype</em>.php, archive-<em>postype</em>.php, etc.</p>
<h3>Future Changes</h3>
<p>We’re excited about the potential of Postyper and will continue to develop its functionality.  Future improvements include:</p>
<ol>
<li>New field type: multi-post</li>
<li>Group fields.  For instance, with type post types, actor and movie, one would want to select with actors are in the movie, and for each actor, the name of the character they played.</li>
<li>Shortcodes for displaying meta field information.</li>
<li>More field types.</li>
<li>Unicorns.</li>

Custom Post Type UI

Works well, but it's missing a number of CPT options: rest_namespace, capabilities, map_meta_cap, register_meta_box_cb, rewrite[feeds, pages, ep_mask], template, and template_lock. I realize these are not common, but it's a drag when you go to create your third CPT and realize you need to find a different solution that will accommodate one of the missing options. It's no good to have a few registered in CPTUI and a few by hand.

Good, but missing a bunch of options.


There is no documentation. In plugin description there is just a link to so called documentation that is just bunch of tutorial of doing specific stuff that are very scarce and targeted to people who already know how to use it. Nothing for first time users, to learn how to actually begin with plugin, or at least nothing that can be easily found.

CPT UI is the standard for managing post types in WordPress. It allows developers to extend WordPress capabilities without writing complex code.



To help the Persian community, I have translated 100% of the plugin and Readme.As the PTE for this locale, I focused on using standard WordPress terminology (e.g., correct translation for "Slug", "Taxonomy", "Hierarchical") to ensure the interface is intuitive for Iranian developers.
