This plugin adds a shortcode that will list a hierarchical site map or list of a particular type of post such as page, post or custom post types with clickable links to view each listed entry. The shortcode is registered using the name: <code>rc_sitemap</code>. The shortcode will by default render an unordered list of the entries with a default class of <code>"rc_sitemap_list"</code>. The optional heading that it outputs has the default class of <code>rc_sitemap_heading</code>.
Overview of shortcode
Site map (<code>rc_sitemap</code>)
This shortcode is used to get and render a list of published posts like a site map. The attributes are as follows:
<ul>
<li><code>post_type</code> – defaults to ‘page’. You can use ‘post’, ‘page’ or any post type name.</li>
<li><code>orderby</code> – defaults to ‘menu_order’. Comma-separated list of options to sort by: accepts ‘post_author’, ‘post_date’, ‘post_title’, ‘post_name’, ‘post_modified’, ‘post_modified_gmt’, ‘menu_order’, ‘post_parent’, ‘ID’, ‘rand’, or ‘comment_count’.</li>
<li><code>order</code> – defaults to ‘ASC’.</li>
<li><code>heading_text</code> – defaults to empty, show no heading.</li>
<li><code>heading_tag</code> – defaults to h2. Note, do not include greater than / less than characters, only the alphanumeric characters e.g. p, h1, h2, h3 etc.</li>
<li><code>heading_class</code> – defaults to <code>'rc_sitemap_heading'</code>. CSS Class added to the heading element.</li>
<li><code>child_of</code> – defaults to empty. Display only the sub-pages of a single page by ID. Default 0 (all pages). Note, only works for hierarchical post types.</li>
<li><code>depth</code> – defaults to empty. Number of levels in the hierarchy of pages to include in the generated list. Accepts -1 (any depth), 0 (all pages), 1 (top-level pages only), and n (pages to the given n depth).</li>
<li><code>exclude</code> – defaults to empty. Comma-separated list of post IDs to exclude.</li>
<li><code>include</code> – defaults to empty. Comma-separated list of post IDs to include.</li>
<li><code>wrapper</code> – defaults to <code>'ul'</code>. Wrapping element of the list. Note, do not include greater than / less than characters, only the alphanumeric characters e.g. ul, p etc.</li>
<li><code>wrapper_class</code> – defaults to <code>'rc_sitemap_list'</code>. CSS Class added to the wrapping element of the list.</li>

<h3>Example usage:</h3>
The most basic shortcode will render a list of <code>page</code> post type entries as an unordered HTML list in ascending order with no list heading:

This simple plugin adds an HTML (Not XML) sitemap of your pages (not posts) by entering the shortcode [html_sitemap] in the page content. This simple plugin is configured with the <code>[html_sitemap]</code> shortcode. This plugin can display a sitemap with specific depths, from a specific parent page and include/exclude specific children. Shortcode attributes include <code>sort_column</code>, <code>sort_order</code>, <code>exclude</code>, <code>include</code>, <code>depth</code>, <code>child_of</code>, <code>meta_key</code>, <code>meta_value</code>, <code>authors</code>, <code>number</code>, <code>offset</code>, <code>post_type</code>, and <code>post_status</code>, everything the <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_pages" rel="nofollow ugc"><code>wp_list_pages</code></a> function accepts. In addition to the <code>wp_list_pages</code> options you can also set <code>class</code>, <code>id</code>, and <code>ordered_list_type</code> options.

The following options may be configured in addition to options documented in <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_pages" rel="nofollow ugc"><code>wp_list_pages</code></a>:
The <code>class</code> and <code>id</code> attributes may specified set class or id values for the initial HTML Page Sitemap <code><ul></code> list tag.
The <code>child_of</code> attribute value can be a numeric page ID (integer), or use the custom value CURRENT or PARENT. The value “CURRENT” will use the current page’s ID. The value “PARENT” will uses the curent page’s parent ID.
The <code>ordered_list_type</code> attribute is an HTML Page Sitemap plugin exclusive option for specfiying an ordered list type. Not setting a ordered_list_type will use an unordered list (default).
<ul>
<li><code>ordered_list_type="1"</code> – The list items will be numbered with numbers</li>
<li><code>ordered_list_type="A"</code> – The list items will be numbered with uppercase letters</li>
<li><code>ordered_list_type="a"</code> – The list items will be numbered with lowercase letters</li>
<li><code>ordered_list_type="I"</code> – The list items will be numbered with uppercase roman numbers</li>
<li><code>ordered_list_type="i"</code> – The list items will be numbered with lowercase roman numbers</li>
</ul>
Note: This plugin only works with Hierarchical Custom Post Types. This plugin will not work if your post type is not heirarchical.

First example shows how to add a sitemap for the entire site.

Though <code>html-sitemap</code> still works, the new HTML Sitemap shortcode is <code>html_sitemap</code>. HTML Page Sitemap

I felt the need to post a quick review for this plugin since it got a couple low ratings due to only including pages. The plugin clearly states it is for listing all of your pages only. It is not a normal XML sitemap. I'm giving it 5 stars because it is simple and does what I wanted. I simply wanted a page that listed all of my site's pages. This did it quickly and minimally. 

I do have one suggestion for the author. Rename the plugin. Instead of HTML Page Sitemap, perhaps it should be Simple Page List. Or, something that does not include "sitemap" since that word is what caused the couple low reviews, I think.
