<p>Reviews for Easy Digital Downloads allows your customers to submit reviews with a 1-5 star rating on your website and helps to increase sales for your business.</p>
<p>It’s easy to enable or disable reviews for downloads from the Extensions settings tab. The following options are available:</p>
<p>A few notes about the sections above:</p>
<ul>
<li>Enable Reviews – If checked, customers will be able to write reviews for the downloads.</li>
<li>Enable Verification – If checked, reviews can only be left by “verified owners”.</li>
<li>Verification Label-  If checked, “verified owner” label on customer reviews will be displayed.</li>
<li>Enable Ratings – If checked, customers will be able to submit reviews with a 1-5 star rating.</li>
<li>Ratings Required? – If checked, star ratings should be required, not optional.</li>

<h3>Getting Started</h3>
<h4>Automatic installation</h4>
<p>Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of this plugin, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu and click Add New.</p>
<p>In the search field type “Reviews for Easy Digital Downloads” and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found this plugin you can view details about it such as the point release, rating and description. Most importantly of course, you can install it by simply clicking “Install Now”.</p>
<h4>Manual installation</h4>
<p>The manual installation method involves downloading the plugin and uploading it to your webserver via your favourite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation" rel="nofollow ugc">instructions on how to do this here</a>.</p>

<p>This plugin requires <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-digital-downloads/" title="Easy Digital Downloads" rel="ugc">Easy Digital Downloads</a>. It allows downloads to be “Coming Soon” or have Custom Status text, and prevents them from being added to the cart. It does a few things:</p>
<ol>
<li>Adds a checkbox to the download configuration so you can set the download to Coming Soon / Custom Status.</li>
<li>Adds a text field to the download configuration so you can set the text to show (default “Coming Soon”).</li>
<li>Adds “Coming Soon” or your custom status text underneath the price on the admin pricing column</li>
<li>Displays “Coming Soon” or the Custom Status text instead of the price when using the [downloads] shortcode, and anywhere else where the edd_price() function has been called.</li>
<li>Prevents the coming soon download from being purchased. The plugin will remove the purchase button and stop the download from being added to cart via the edd_action. Eg ?edd_action=add_to_cart&download_id=XXX</li>
<li>Allows customers to vote on a specific download. A download’s votes are listed on the edit/publish page and on the admin dashboard</li>
