Excluding custom query which uses order or orderby parameters, in get_posts or query_posts and so on.

There are many plugins for ordering posts out there, but I like this one the most. No extra menu page, disabled by default, works with any custom post type.👍

Does what you need. The only thing that could make it better would be an undo function for the occasional mouse slip. :)

The plugin does exactly what it says it'll do, and makes it possible to sort posts manually. Works well with advanced query blocks, you just need to tell the query block to sort by menu_order.

<h4>Using Sortable Posts In Your Theme / Plugin</h4>
Sortable Posts currently allows users to add post types to the list of sortable post types and taxonomies by either adding them in the options panel or by adding them via a custom filter. Should you want to add them via a filter you can use the <code>sortable_post_types</code> for posts and the <code>sortable_taxonomies</code> filter for taxonomies.
