I am on free version and mainly use it to provide EEC to analytics. 
Plugin has some issues linking to accounts when running in FireFox, but Chrome works fine. Support is also helpful and responsive.

Works well

It's one thing to offer a paid version, I get it, people like to be paid for their work. But to offer a free version for years and then take away those features...that just doesn't sit well with me. I've removed it from all of my clients' sites, it's relatively easy to set up these Events on your own with a little code or Google Tag Manager.
