WP Event Calendar

I really like this plugin! It's super lightweight, yet functional and powerful. It's perfect as a standalone solution, with some custom theme templates, or as a starting point for building a more powerful, streamlined calendar system.



Easy to use, lightweight, magnificant

Very good base for developers. Very extendable and filterable.

This doesn't give you front end calendar, but it takes well care of the management and display of calendar(s) from admin side. Extends WP_List_Table class for calendar views.

Lacks Location as taxonomy, but such can easily be added.

I combine this with Genesis Custom Blocks to make front end views, single event, list and calendars.

Well coded, structured and lightweight for event management

<p>Read a Poem – Month by Month is a simple way to display fresh website content to site visitors every month. The plugin can be used for any post content, you aren’t restricted to poems.</p>
<p>Add your poems to the Read a Poem post entry. Enter 12 poems and then assign them to a month. Add the shortcode to a page to display a different poem each month.</p>

<li>Use the shortcode [poem-current] to display a different poem each month</li>
<li>Use the shortcode [poem id=XXX] to display a specific poem</li>
<li>Shortcodes can be used in a page, post, or a text widget</li>
