SendGrid provides a high-deliverability email service, protecting your emails from overzealous spam filters. 
WP SendGrid uses SendGrid’s API to make sure your site’s emails are delivered. 
This helps ensure reliability for plugins that notify subscribers of new posts, verify new user emails, and perform other email-based tasks.
If you do WordPress development on Windows, or are hosting your site on Windows Azure, this plugin is an easy way to make sure your emails can be delivered. 
Because Windows doesn’t have a built-in sendmail service, WordPress can’t send emails by default, 
but since WP SendGrid routes all emails through the SendGrid API, they will be delivered, even if you’re running on Windows.
To install, enable WP SendGrid like you would any other WordPress plugin. Enter your SendGrid credentials (you’ll need a SendGrid account), and you should be ready to go. If you wish, you can also choose between SendGrid’s REST API and their SMTP servers, and whether to connect to SendGrid using a secure connection.

<li>SMTP Authentication: Whether to use SMTP authentication when sending an email (True/False). If you choose to authenticate you will also need to provide your username and password.</li>

<li>Type of Encryption: The encryption to be used when sending an email (TLS/SSL/No Encryption. TLS is recommended).</li>

<li>Force From Name: The From name in the settings is set for all outgoing email messages.</li>

<li>Disable SSL Certificate Verification: As of PHP 5.6 a warning/error is shown if the SSL certificate on the server is not properly configured. This option lets you disable that behaviour.</li>

Once you have configured the settings you can send a test email to check the functionality of the plugin.

SMTP Mailer

So i have tried configuring it two ways - with gmail and smtp from my own hosting, it doesn't work in both cases.

With gmail it hangs on password authentication according to log - the password IS correct, less secure apps is checked and critical login is confirmed. 

With my own smtp credentials - it supposedly sending test message, but it simply doesn't comply with CF7, there's an error while sending form and that's it.

It is lightweight, which i really like but what of it if plugin doesn't work even on native settings?

To dev:
- if you fix it, then i will change my review. Latest WP, only your plugin and CF7, PHP 7.3 and default Wordpress theme.
