Monitors your WordPress installation for core, plugin and theme updates and emails you when they are available. This plugin is ideal if you don’t login to your WordPress admin regularly or you support a client’s website.

This plugin is a fork of <a href="https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/update-notifier/" rel="ugc">Update Notifier</a>. This plugin was forked because there seemed to be no further development on the existing plugin and there was no way to contact the original author to ask about taking ownership. WP Updates Notifier has the following improvements over Updates Notifier:

<li>You can set the cron interval, allowing for more frequent checks.</li>

Two filters have been provided to allow you to alter the email subject and email content being sent by WP Updates Notifier.

WP Updates Notifier

It's ok for theme and plugins notifications, but notification about core updates does't work for more than one year!
This plugin probably won't recieve an update anymore.

Out-of date and not fully working

Sends email to notify you if there are any updates for your WordPress site. Can notify about core, plugin and theme updates.

DEPRECATED: As of WP v5.5 this plugins functionality is included in WP Core and this plugin is not required anymore. If you are running WP v5.5 or greater, you can de-activate and delete/remove this plugin. This plugin will still continue work fine with versions of WordPress less than v5.5.
WordPress will let you install a NEW plugin or theme from a zip file, but it does NOT allow you to upgrade them from a zip file. If you try to upgrade from a zip file, you will get an error message that says “destination already exists” and the upgrade will fail. WordPress will not allow you to upgrade from a zip file.
Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File will allow you to easily upgrade from a zip file, avoiding the “destination already exists” error message.
There is also an option to create a backup copy of the old plugin or theme, in case there is a problem with the new version.
