Frequently Asked Questions

How do I display the archive image on my CPT archive template?

The featured image is stored as a Genesis option. To display the image use genesis_get_cpt_option( 'rwc_cpt_featured_img' ); on the archive template for the CPT, which will return a string of the image URL.

A hook can be used to display the featured image as well. Hooking into genesis_archive_title_descriptions will display the image above the archive title.

add_action('genesis_archive_title_descriptions', 'rwc_display_cpt_image', 1);
function rwc_display_cpt_image(){
    if ( is_post_type_archive() ) {
        $post_type_image = genesis_get_cpt_option( 'rwc_cpt_featured_img' );
    if(!empty($post_type_image)){
            echo '<div class="cpt-image"><img src="'.$post_type_image.'" alt="header image" /></div>';
        }
    }
}
